Aroma of red fruit, nutty, slightly earthy and slightly woody, with hints of black berries, notes of tobacco, licorice, and a touch of aromatic herbs. Tart, slightly muted fruit, notes of dried flowers, earthy and dried vegetal, herbaceous, with a certain persistence. Noticeably dry tannins, notes of nutty wood on the palate. Not very deep, with some persistence, slightly bitter on the finish, still slightly dry.
This wine pairs very well with tasty red meats and mature cheeses.
2019 Casali Del Barone - Barolo -
A rich and intense Barolo, with notes of plum, red fruits, fruit compote, cedar, eucalyptus, tobacco and leather.
All supported by firm yet sweet tannins and a silky texture, which concludes with a toasted balsamic finish.
Casali del Barone Barolo is made from the queen of black grapes, Nebbiolo, and is the star of wines that express the tradition and history of the Piedmont region, between the Langhe and Monferrato. The grapes are harvested by hand, and each individual bunch is meticulously selected upon arrival at the winery.
Delicious with truffle tagliolini and any truffle-based dish, but also with Piedmontese cheeses and bagna cauda.
